Official app overview
One calm route through your first Cardiff setup steps.
SettleRoute helps new residents understand what to do first, what to
bring, where to start online, and which official sources to trust.

What the app helps with
SettleRoute organizes common new-resident setup tasks into a practical
checklist. The Cardiff pilot includes guidance around:
- Emergency and urgent help numbers
- Finding nearby pharmacies, GPs, and dentists
- Council tax and address-related council steps
- Basic transport information
- National Insurance number guidance
- Bank account preparation
- Utilities and waste collection tasks
- School admissions for families
- Local support and community resources
No account required
SettleRoute does not require users to create an account, choose a password,
or upload identity documents.
Local progress
Checklist progress is saved locally on the device. Users can clear saved
data inside the app.
Designed for trust
The app is intentionally narrow: it explains setup steps, shows what may be
needed, and sends users to official sources when they need to continue.
- Approved-source link checks
- External link confirmation before leaving the app
- No sensitive document uploads
- No account or password requirement
- Clear saved data option
What the app does not do
- It does not replace official government, council, healthcare, or legal advice.
- It does not collect passports, tenancy agreements, bank statements, or National Insurance documents.
- It does not make emergency decisions for users.
- It does not guarantee eligibility for services, benefits, housing, healthcare registration, or school places.
Availability
SettleRoute is being prepared for early Android testing first. The public
